Pros

- Interesting work with big brands, good exposure to clients, pitching and proposal writing - Good and helpful HR department - Welcoming and friendly strategy department, made up of a very talented group of people - Within-department respect for members at every level of the team - Openness to new ideas, approaches and ways of working - Willingness to allow you to work on projects you like the sound of/think you'd be a good fit with - Young agency so fun socials

Cons

- Poor salaries - seems they will pay as little as they possibly can to you instead of paying what they think you're worth - High workload with expectation to work overtime (in busy periods this is consistently) on no extra pay - Arrogant (and sometimes bullying) culture from seniors (outside of strategy) - Favouritism-based progression/pay/bonuses with seniors (outside of strategy) - Morally lacking as a business overall, willing to work with some brands with poor reputations (ethical, sustainable, animal-cruelty)

The Goat Agency Response

Thank you for your review, we appreciate any and all feedback received. We are thrilled you’ve found our People team to be helpful and a positive force within Goat. Additionally, we are happy to hear that your experience within the Strategy team was also a positive experience. At Goat, we encourage our people to seek out opportunities and lead their own development with support from their teams and leadership. We also encourage everyone to share their ideas and give our people equal opportunity regardless of their level or experience, so we are glad that this was part of your experience with us. We do set high standards for our people and the work we do for our clients. By nature this will mean there are times where we are all required to work outside regular hours. However, we do not expect people to work unsociable hours, and should this occur we encourage people to take advantage of our benefits such as Heka (our wellbeing platform) and our generous annual leave policies. Regarding salaries, we place great emphasis on developing people and helping them progress quickly through our fair and impartial bi-annual appraisal scheme. All employees are eligible to receive a promotion and/or payrise twice a year, provided they meet and exceed the standards outlined in their KPI’s which are communicated regularly by managers and leadership. Finally, your comment that Goat is ‘morally lacking’ as a company is one we take very seriously. As a growing business, we want to ensure our work is lucrative and of a high standard so we can continue to grow and support our people as they grow with us. Furthermore, this claim is directly contradictory to the work our sister company, Purple Goat, engages in. They are dedicated to showcasing and promoting disability in advertising and media. Beyond this, as we grow, we are taking significant steps to ensure our work is of a high standard and our people feel happy, fulfilled and above all safe at work.
