They fall short in verifying if the clients they match you with can actually afford to hire a virtual assistant. You may be working with clients who could not compensate you for your services. I've been matched with a client who I later found out did not pay the previous VA (or possibly multiple VAs) before me that was hired through Freedom Geek as well. Don't waste your time. Find another VA agency that would act as an escrow between you and the client to make sure you'll get paid.

Thank you for sharing this experience with us. We appreciate your feedback and take it seriously. We have spoken to our staff and are not aware of any recent incidents where this has happened so please get in touch directly with us with further details. We do work with small business owners who are growing their businesses. The vast majority of the time these businesses are financially stable enough to pay for VA services although occasionally one will not succeed. On the rare occasion this is the case we ask the business owner to provide a reference for the VA so we are able to provide them with a new client. Our business model includes a fee for our VA find services as we put considerable effort into screening VAs plus the interview and initial onboarding services. We invoice the clients upfront for this. This also serves as an affordability check from our side. With our model we do not take a salary cut from the VA. The advantages of this include allowing the client and VA to work together with no interference or micro management from us. Benefits also include clients giving VAs pay rises and bonuses directly. Both clients and VAs have indicated over the years they prefer and appreciate this business model. The downside of this is that if a client defaults on a payment we have not been paid the VA salary in advance and are unable to cover it. We ask the VA to cease working as soon as possible so that they are not exposed to mounting debt from the client. It's extremely rare that we witness our clients not paying their VAs. We understand the importance of ensuring that clients can compensate Virtual Assistants for their services and are continuously improving our processes. We value your time and trust, and we’re committed to providing a positive experience for all our clients and virtual assistants.

Not much, maybe a nice recruitment process

Cons

Undervalueing Filipinos, apparently being underpaid is the selling point of this company. They promised me 8 usd per hour, when hired, they gave me 2 usd per hour holy smokes xD

Pros

The hiring process long but worth it. They will filter truly interested applciants for the job that is why it is very long.

Cons

Salary is a little low compared to other agencies.
