Pros

Break room with snacks, allotted on the clock lunch break(instead of breaks)

Cons

Management seemed confused or like they were lying about their needs and intentions the entire time. Taking 3 weeks to get me on the schedule with 2 "training" shifts weeks apart that I simply did cleaning tasks for. I applied for part time and nights but was given full time 6am shifts. Showed up on time while Management was always late. There is a 3 month "probationary" period where they can use any reason to terminate someone. Dogs get sick here regularly and the main training room has a moldy unfinished ceiling. I wasn't trusted and was talked down to despite being older than other workers and given rudimentary cleaning tasks where multiple others didn't do these tasks once while I was there. Was talked to and treated differently than others as I believe I was the only cis male working there in an all female run business. Other employees constantly questioned my work despite doing as I was told and my being amicable despite this. When I addressed being antagonized for asking questions was terminated on the spot. Ad for employment was on Craigslist and now I know why.

Pros

Working from home is optional depending on your role

Cons

The dog wizard is a franchise. Each region is managed differently so I can only speak to the chantilly, VA region which covers the dmv. The owners here bought into this business knowing NOTHING about dogs. They supposedly worked in HR for a long time but do not know how to people manage or have difficult conversations. There is no work life balance, the owners will message you all hours of the day and night and make promises to pet owners that are not always feasible and put extra unnecessary strain on their team. Bryan specifically is on a power trip and, to use his words, “if I say the sky is purple, then the sky is effing purple”. If you want to work for micromanaging, power hungry yet spineless franchise owners, then look no further.
