Pros
- Excellent health benefits that includes a program that will save you money while helping you get healthier. - 3 weeks vacation to start out with the option to "purchase" additional days (basically furlough days). - Loads of career opportunities if you're flexible and have the willingness to pay for frequent relocation. - A nice tuition reimbursement program, and a nearly endless library of learning materials that are accessible anytime through software such as Skillsoft and Books 24x7. - A long overdue rewards program was recently rolled out that allows managers and associates to give special recognition employees for a job well done. - It's the greatest brand in the world and the company is filled with talented, hard workers who will run through a wall if they're asked to (and right now, that's exactly what's happening).
Cons
- Major organizational changes occur every other year. Things that were working well before end up getting changed while processes that hurt the business remain in place. - Droves of employees have lost their jobs in recent years due to the frequent restructuring, all in an effort to *Go Lean*, but it has long since reached the point where nothing else can be removed without making day-to-day operations impossible to maintain. Managers & supervisors now have to make choices that put their jobs, well-being, and personal lives in jeopardy in order to keep the business running. Twelve-hour days are considered to be normal. - The hiring process takes months for most positions and managers have little chance of getting the best candidate, as those individuals end up taking other jobs in the weeks that they spend waiting to hear back after their interview. - Some employees are just learning about their 2013 performance objectives now, at the end of August. Several objectives are impossible to achieve and are given to positions that have no impact whatsoever on the results. - The CEO promised "more feet on the street" when the CCR merger was announced. What actually happened instead were more job cuts in the sales force while company cars were taken away and bonuses were put far out of reach. Top Sales employees have no incentive to stay with this company.
