Pros

Some of the projects are cool. Hybrid work. Pretty much everyone there is very kind and great to work with. Loved my coworkers. The camaraderie is pretty high.

Cons

The camaraderie is high…because most everyone is trauma bonded. Lol The expectations for the designers are through the roof, unrealistic. Especially being paid below market value. I was able to negotiate a higher salary because I knew better than to accept the position where I could literally go make more money annually, working at Target or Starbucks. I have a degree guys, c’mon. The negotiation was successful to a point. It was still way below the market, but I was a rookie so what could I do? With no other offers, I took it and then was bombarded with projects, little to no training or support cuz everyone who could help was also on overload, and I was expected to work over-time when the demand was high enough because I was on a salary, not hourly. The demand was high enough on week TWO of my employment. The breaking point was when the night before I was leaving for a holiday trip, I was told 2 minutes after quitting time while I was literally packing up to drive home, that I wasn’t allowed to leave until I finished applying critiques to a project of mine. The due date was changed within that same hour from a week out to the very next morning, per the client’s wishes. That short of a notice was not my fault, but I stayed because I didn’t want it to be dumped on my coworkers load, and believe it would’ve been. That’s when I started applying else where again and was able to snag something a little better. Sometimes I still feel bad for leaving because the people were wonderful and tried to be as helpful as possible, but when everyone is on the same sinking ship there isn’t much you can do.

We also take seriously your concerns around workload, compensation, training, and client expectations. These are areas we are actively reviewing, including how we can better support our design teams, balance project demands, and ensure compensation remains competitive.
