Pros
The product's are actually pretty good – shame they wont make a success of it. Snacks are provided including unlimited product Free lunch on a Friday but that gesture is ruined by the fact you have to hear the COO shout at the Homebase Manager every week about whats being spent and ordered, and then shout at the vendor on the phone about payment in check.
Cons
The CMO is in way over his head, and has no idea how to build a brand. As mentioned in other reviews, the CMO is a glorified field marketer who just wants to sample and build powerpoint decks to show and tell a whole load of nothing. Now I’m all for stretching people and taking on big challenges but you’d think that with that would come the sense, to after hiring experienced people, listen to their experience. They talk a lot about a culture of innovation and opportunity to get involved and help shape the brand and company but the truth is he doesn’t want to hear anything that doesn’t support his thinking and ideas. Do not be fooled, they do NOT want your feedback or opinions unless it supports theirs! Discussions are almost always one on one (or as the CMO calls them 1v1’s – which itself is a huge flag to his approach – “versus”). This way he can control the bits he chooses to listens to. I mean what young; culture of innovation organization, plans campaigns and creative concepts one on one rather than through team collaboration? Those who speak up are “not a fit” and fired. Take this super high turnover as a serious indicator of their culture! The COO is rude and extremely confrontational and every conversation with her is like being told off like a naughty child, there’s no respect for anyone. The CEO well, there’s not much to say there, take that how you will.
