Pros

I should preface this review in light that I had many hopes for this company to become what they promised to be with their new lab buildout. It still pains me to write this review as the only pro I can think of was the team aspect at Texcell- I loved my coworkers and their dedication to this company speaks volumes, even when they are actively targeted by management and other employees for issues outside of their control. Texcell is a small company and each person wears many hats, some more than others. This prefaces the culture of individuals being taken advantaged of, finger pointing, and other hateful acts that has a driven a wedge into a once pleasant atmosphere. I was worked to death in conditions that cannot be described as supportive- management actively contributed to bullying and harassment. The company only cares about the bottom line, making money, and when they are told they cannot perform the projects with the minimal staff they have on hand, they spent money hiring upper management to "fix" the morale issues rather than hiring the actual staff needed. Do NOT work here, regardless of the position. You will quickly find that Texcell has rapidly changed into a mess of a CRO, overworking it's employees, focusing on bizarre and unattainable goals, pitting departments against each other, and much more. See cons below.

Cons

- DO NOT expect training. Texcell had no training system whatsoever when I started, and when I left, the training system that was in place was arguably worse than not having one. The failure of training is one of the biggest factors contributing to the overload of work. Projects are constantly repeated due to this. - COMMUNICATION (or lack thereof). Nothing gets a team motivated like a surprise announcement about how one department is getting shut down because the individuals in that department decided they don't want to do it anymore, and that the department's workload is getting absorbed back into the department already swamped with projects! - IMBALANCE. Texcell's main financial drive is viral clearance. This department makes, by far, the most money, yet when I left, had proportionally the least amount of staff. This dept is expected to work in incredible amount in overtime and weekend work with no support from other staff. -BEHAVIOR. One particular individual, who continues to work at Texcell, was reported multiple times for harassment. They have directly resulted in personnel quitting. -DISLOYALTY. Staff, some who have been tenured for over 10 years, were unceremoniously fired/asked to leave as internal battles for power came to a head. These are personnel that know clients on a first-name basis and built Texcell's brand to what it was previously known for. Do not expect this company, who boasts of it's small, "family-friendly" culture, to provide an inch of care for you. They will not train you. They will not respect you. And most importantly, they will not value you or your skills. I hope this review is heeded for both entry level and senior level job seekers. This company is not worth your time. There are vastly better opportunities out there.
