Flexible, Friendly Work Environment - Better than average Pay - Captionist Texas State Employee Review

Pros

When I was working there pay was about 13/hr. Management has changed since then so I'm not 100% sure if it's changed, but when I was there it was great. I got to go to a lot of random lectures and practice typing, and the schedule was pretty flexible around your school schedule.

Cons

You have to get some really strong hands. Sometimes you'll be typing for 3 hours straight (though this is only when your captioning partner has to dip out unexpectedly), and you have to be prepared to take care of your hands very well during this job. Bad sleep and bad food makes weak muscles, slow typing... stretch and focus on accuracy if you're going for this job
