Pros

Good job for a high school student. They will try to work with your schedule. Literally the only semi-good thing about this place.

Cons

Terrible pay No paid holidays No sick days Crappy insurance Managers who don't know how to manage Required to work weekends A lot of micro management 30 min lunch while working a 9 hour shift Owner is a spaz, doesnt respect his employees Weekly meetings where the owner criticizes employees for the company's downfalls A lot of favoritism - certain employees are allowed to get away with certain things while others arent Apply for one job and be expected to do 5 other jobs once hired No work-life balance Overall a terrible work environment for anyone over the age of 21

Dear Anonymous: Thank you for your feedback. At Tennis Express, we strive to provide a nurturing, team environment. As is common in retail, paid holidays and sick days are determined on an individual Team Member basis. We are a small company that is committed to offering the best possible health insurance available to a company of our size. Because of the competitive nature of the sporting goods market, managing every detail is a necessity. Our Team Leaders manage all facets of the Tennis Express brand in order to maintain profitability, so the company's employees will enjoy job stability. We believe our company is wholly dependent on a content group of Team Members who like coming to work every day. We currently offer a 45-minute lunch and encourage our employees to work a maximum of eight hours a day to maintain a healthy work/life balance. Weekly meetings are dedicated to addressing ways to enhance best practices. The intention is to inform all Team Members about problems that occur, so that everyone can work together to correct these challenges. At Tennis Express, favoritism is discouraged, and the members of the company’s leadership team work to serve as models of equal treatment for all. As in any small company, our Team Members can serve in many capacities. On a voluntary basis, Team Members are encouraged to cross train and expand their knowledge of the business as a whole. The Team Leaders at Tennis Express value a diverse workforce, and hiring Team Members of every age is one of our commitments. Likewise, we welcome cheerful applicants who range from entry-level to professional. We certainly appreciate your feedback and hope that you will continue to let us know how we can improve the way we interact with our Team Members.
