Pros
I appreciate the generally relaxed nature of the job and the colleagues I get to work with, especially considering the compensation. I also enjoyed the remote work aspect, though it appears that may be ending soon.
Cons
Since this work is tied to government contracts, job security can be highly uncertain. In the past, this wasn’t a major concern, but recent developments have made it more of a reality. While not entirely the company’s fault, there was a clear lack of preparation in response to federal funding cuts, particularly from agencies like HHS and CMS. Leadership underestimated the seriousness of government signals, assuming it was just political posturing. Additionally, the organizational culture has started shifting toward a more rigid and hierarchical structure, with changes often made without notice. There are also growing signs that remote work may be phased out entirely.
