Pros
After several years at Teleport, collaborating across various business units, I can confidently say that my journey here has been rewarding and filled with opportunities for growth. The environment is fast-paced with high expectations for delivering results. This startup-like atmosphere reflects the core value, "we are drivers, not passengers," across every team. While the pace might not be for everyone, the exceptional pay and benefits reflect the effort and dedication expected. Management, particularly the CEO, Ev, and the people leader, Alex, demonstrate a genuine interest in employee feedback, leading to tangible improvements in policies and practices. This commitment strengthens a culture of continuous growth and trust. For example, challenges like those referenced in other reviews (such as the LD topic) were identified and resolved swiftly, demonstrating how feedback is effectively acted upon. Teleport’s fully remote culture is one of the best I’ve seen in my career. There is a healthy balance of in-person and virtual events, access to an optional Oakland office, and a truly global workforce with employees from diverse backgrounds and locations. The company also places a high value on diversity, ensuring that employees from all walks of life feel supported and included. Internal support groups and monthly DEI lunch & learns reflect Teleport’s ongoing commitment to fostering an equitable and welcoming culture. As a member of an underrepresented group, I am especially grateful for the support and opportunities available here. Overall, I'm proud to be part of a company that emphasizes both professional success and personal well-being. Teleport’s focus on innovation, inclusion, and employee growth makes it an exceptional place to work.
Cons
While no workplace is perfect, I appreciate Teleport’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a collaborative, forward-thinking atmosphere. Mistakes happen (we’re all human) but what stands out is the company’s ability to recognize, learn from, and swiftly address those mistakes. If you're reading this, you probably want to know the real cons of working here. So, I’ll be honest and nitpick for you. Since we’re a security company, there are naturally many security protocols and constraints designed to protect both the company and our customers. These can sometimes slow down execution and require creative problem-solving to maintain momentum. Additionally, with employees located across nearly every time zone, managing communication can be challenging. You’ll need to fine-tune your notification settings and establish boundaries to ensure downtime in your evenings. Fortunately, leadership strongly supports proper work-life balance and encourages employees to prioritize their well-being.
