Pros
- Pays a competitive salary - Has a great benefits package - Nice central office location - Some flexibility to work from home - Provides a unique business that has long term staying power
Cons
- Highly incompetent senior leadership. They are technically proficient, but terrible at leading a company that has grown from 10 to over 50 people. They keep acting like it is still 10 people. - Unresponsive, yet highly vindictive HR department who tries to lead employees by using fear tactics. Many past employees have quit solely because of the operations of the HR department, but this goes either unnoticed by senior leadership or they just do not care. - Company acts like you can have a flexible work schedule, but have been known to make life difficult for people taking maternity/paternity leave. - Company plays favorites to Virginia Tech grads - over 80% of their young workforce comes from VT. This may be good for them, but not for people coming from other universities. - The company has a very contradictory business policy. They do not practice what they preach. For example, the company has employee ownership and claims to welcome alternate views to their policies from their employees, but proceed with caution because senior leadership will push you out the door if you give them one. - Company focuses their career training solely on new hires out of college. They have no training for experienced analysts or management. - Senior leadership will tolerate and encourage personal attacks by employees on other employees without retribution if it serves their greater agenda.
