Pros

- Exposure to multiple areas of the business due to lack of structure — you learn fast (mostly out of necessity). - If you’re early in your career, it might offer an initial foot in the door to the industry — just don’t plan to stay. - You’ll develop resilience and a thick skin.

Cons

- There is no structure, no clear vision, and absolutely no consistency — priorities shift daily depending on the MD’s mood, which creates constant confusion and stress. - Leadership is erratic and unprofessional. Decisions are rarely strategic and often reversed multiple times. Constructive feedback is rare, and people are routinely treated unfairly. - Overtime is expected and normalized with no recognition or compensation. - High turnover: people quit regularly due to burnout and toxic culture, but roles are rarely backfilled, meaning the pressure just increases for those who stay. - The company has gone through multiple periods of financial difficulty, often leading to reduced hours or redundancies. - No perks, no annual reviews (and if one is scheduled, it’s likely to be forgotten or cancelled with no follow-up). - Office environment is demotivating, with little to no collaboration, low morale, and constant gossip. - HR is outsourced and disconnected from day-to-day realities — there is no proper internal support system.
