Pros

Very good company to work. Infact it is sea of people. Salary structure is quite straight.

Cons

One who joined as fresher will not get good hikes in years. I joined fresh from campus to company and today I am serving 4th year. Some of my classmates joined the company from other organization as lateral and there is huge difference in salary. I am having They change their promotion policy any time they wish and you can not ask any one why. If you ask HR , they simply say its Corp HR policy. In my 4 years, I never got not even single corp HR! Management and project/work environment is excellent most of the time - (but its quite true that all type of work environment you can find in all companies). But there are few worst projects like Duetche Bank. Their managers are qorst and last year one guy suicide but with the power TCS covered this issue. This was happened in ITPL. There are such cases also. HRs are worst fellow in TCS. Most of them are girls and they never know how to give respect to individual. They are acting as owners of company. Its quite common in TCS that speaking to HR, you should be little loud, otherwise they become loud. HR here is the animal which never smiles.

Pros

Large client base. Talented people, have "cracked the code" on offshoring development and support.

Cons

For anyone used to working in US-based firms, the culture and politics will be difficult to understand and navigate. Internal policies and systems focus on the offshore delivery center model. Roles in the US do not fit into that mold, and obtaining approvals for simple expenses can require weeks and insanely high approval chains given the size of TCS. I needed approval from a global division head (a CEO direct-report) just to pay for a short training course. Missions of different departments are not clearly defined, so overlap and conflict are common.
