Pros

There are truly no pros.

Cons

If you are not friends with the owners or management, you might last about 3 months. This is a group of greedy mean girls with a great idea and no structure, copy and pasted business plan and unattainable goals. They did well in their hometown by selling to friends and decided to take it nationwide launching in cities they know nothing about and have done nothing to build the database. The only people who know anything about the company have been ripped off and sent to collections. They want to get rich quick and if you don't build the business for them in your city from the ground up, you are simply used as a data collector and let go. These gals will exclude you, demean and belittle you on calls with the entire "team." The goals are ridiculously out of reach and completely unreasonable. They'll ask you to buy gifts for employees in their clique and refuse to give a dime to COVID-19 relief efforts. Their mindset is everything that is wrong with the world. These made up roles like "Chief Revenue Officer" serve her ego and no one else because she has absolutely no idea how to communicate, motivate, inspire or even recall a conversation. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, ever.

TapOnIt Response

We appreciate your feedback. We realize that the startup environment is not for everyone and wish you the best on your future endeavors. Unfortunately, like many other businesses, we were faced with abrupt challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. Having to eliminate some sales positions was a very tough choice, as it is for any businesses, but it wasn't based on personal relationships or feelings. Like many companies we had to look at where we could make changes to manage expenses and continue to move forward. Our company had to innovate and restructure to meet the rapidly changing landscape, and this also involved taking risks to help our local businesses. While we did not donate directly to the relief fund you suggested, we created the 4Million4Local campaign and for the end of April and all of May, businesses that would have normally paid to advertise with TapOnIt were given completely free advertising through TapOnIt, and it had a tremendous impact for our local businesses in each market. Again, we wish you the best in the future.

Pros

Cute office dogs and nice work space.

Cons

TapOnIt is a company with great potential, however the management is a huge obstacle that will prevent them from achieving their desired success. Being a female-founded startup is outstanding, however being a genuinely nice person trumps that any day, and I think management should prioritize that. The female “leaders” are gossipy and ingenuine - HR is the CEO’s best friend, not yours, so keep this in mind when sharing confidential information. This company really struggles with miscommunication, and that starts from the top. Their core value of “fostering inclusivity” felt like a joke when it came to sharing important information with the team. TapOnIt has many hard working employees, whose work ethic is often taken advantage of. The turnover rate at this company is unacceptable and should be highly considered before working here. Working from home is not an option despite the fact that management does whenever they please and half the team is now remote workers overseas. If you are looking for a positive and healthy work environment, don’t let the dogs fool you. Keep looking.
