Pros
I worked at talisman for two years as an influential lead engineer in one of the most high profile plays in the company. It was mentioned to me that talisman was a low performing organization with a desire to change, however I was not prepared for the chaos, poor training, and lack of leadership from most every department.
Top management levels are distanced from the day-to-day operations and it shows in the stock performance. The people that stay at Talisman are often in positions that are beyond their experience (which can be a good thing), however this is a systemic condition leading to poor management support and a lack of willingness to change. The street has figured this out and it is directly reflected in their stock value.
Cons
poor management support and lack of top down leadership creates a country club atmosphere
