People first - Senior Software Engineer Tailwind Employee Review

Tailwind is a great company with great leadership and a strong vision for their product. There was a very collaborative spirit among the team, and everyone pushed each other to be the best version of themselves.

Working for a company that is relatively young always comes with challenges. The expectations are high, but I don't see that as a con; it's just a reality that you need to know about before you enter the VC-funded tech world.

There are some solid people still lingering at Tailwind. The pay is pretty competitive for most roles. Unlimited PTO.

They don't live by their values. Your candor/feedback will not be valued (even if they tell you it is/will be). Don't rock the boat or you'll pay the consequences. Layoffs happen semi-regularly. No loyalty to tenured employees. People are promoted/rewarded based on how well they talk themselves up- not based on actual value added. You have to know how to play the game. Authenticity is not rewarded. Nepotism is active and thriving here.
