Pros

This was originally written under Aegis, but it now called Teleperformance after a buyout in 2014. Extremely unprofessional work environment. "Dissaray," as another reviewer (see Aegis) stated, is putting it mildly. Hopefully Teleperformance can fix them. The job (not as a call center agent) pays about half of what comparable jobs are in Dallas. I believe agents also can make more at other call centers in the area. The outdated, often filthy, computers constantly make it difficult to impossible to do your job. I believe they were from about 2008. The security measures on them are so extreme they even block the information the company itself requires for you to complete your work. Getting any kind of IT help takes an act of Congress. Often you never do get what you need done. There is no new employee orientation other than for agents and it centered around dress code, time worked, etc. so you never learned know who is who, etc. from a company standpoint. Redundant reports are necessary daily. There is a complete lack of communication. Everyone is running around dealing with chaos due to lack of organization, SOPs, communication. Payroll is chaos. Someone posted a Youtube video on agents who had quit or were terminated trying to get their final paychecks that were owed to them. They are constantly getting paychecks wrong even with a biometric wall clock system, a computer clock system, manual timesheets, etc. Finally someone from Teleperformance corporate came to help straighten it out, but the problems with pay still have not been resolved. Management have set up "telethon" like rooms where they sit and answer questions about pay all day on paydays due to the number of issues experienced. Many paydays employees were either paid incorrectly or not paid at all and it would take weeks to get their paycheck or a corrected. Some never did get paid for hours worked even after my time there. I heard that one employee was overpaid thousands. Others had not been with the company for months, yet were still being paid. Nobody ever even noticed. HR constantly has a sign on the door that says they are "closed." You have to sign in and they might see you. They look at your shoes through the small part of the window on the door that is not papered over to determine if they will speak to you or not. It was as if they had started the business yesterday, yet they are a huge global business. There's lots of sexual harassment and it is ignored. There is also lots of racial discrimination. Corporate offices are closed off and separate and they appear out of touch with what is really going on, blaming employees for not performing their jobs when the employee cannot even get simple tools like printer or copier access, their own computer and desk/work station set up for them properly, etc. I never did get a phone and was forced to use my own personal cell phone for work conference calls, etc. The health benefits are so poor you end up having to pay the penalty to the government because they do not meet the Affordable Healthcare Act standards. Yes, it does feel like a high school, but not in a good way. There is supposed to be a dress code and the new employee orientation focuses a huge amount of time on this yet people are dressed like they are either streetwalkers or going clubbing (or never came home from the club), there are fights in the parking lot, security guards everywhere inside and outside. Even the HR people were physically assaulted while I was there, one was a little person and he was bitten! They had police presence on paydays just in case something terrible occured. They do hire felons and it is a known fact there is at least one sex offender working there. The smell of pot was almost a constant in the parking lot no matter what time of day it was. People were high all the time. The company only drug tests as part of the hiring process and never again. You get what you pay for in the types of employees you see and those that you actively recruit. Agents typically make $9.00 or so per hour. Constant turnover because people get better paying jobs in more organized and professionally run organizations. Not a working water fountain in the building. Two bathrooms for thousands of employees. Elevators have signs saying they are not for passengers. Freezing cold temperatures force you to wear winter clothes no matter what season. Agents have to wear winter coats, gloves, hats, etc. all year just to function. People use cell phones on the call center floor to steal customers' personal information despite the company taking measures to prohibit all cell phones.

Pros

My group of supervisors and our manager work really well together. The upside of this company is the ability to work from home and the support you are given is better than most places I have worked.

Cons

this can only be said for my project as we do not always have a clear path of what the upper management is looking for us to do

Pros

For the most part, I have an open availability. I do however, like not having to work on Sundays. Some campains allow for a 1 hour lunch break. The hiring process was fairly easy. Your equipment is provided. There is opportunity for advancement. They are helpful when it comes to license renewal. Calls are back to back which for me seems to make time go faster. Flexibly as to when you want to take your lunch break. You have to opportunity to assist people without having to feel it was rushed. Off all major holidays.

Cons

Rushed training that may leave some questions unanswered. I feel like I had to figure things out on my own. Getting the assistance you need to help a client took longer than it should, especially when the client is on on hold, waiting for your response. At times some trainers seem to be unprepared for the roll they have taken. Calls are frequently monitored. Not much time between calls. It can take too long to transition from on campain to the next after the project has ended.
