Pros
TIPPS pays a competitive salary based on the some other schools in Turkey.
Cons
Other companies pay the same or even more. Management tends to lie to teachers blatantly about many things, both banal and serious. Management does not seem to care about the viability of their teachers. They tend to be more focused on their bottom line rather than how decisions may or may not impact the people who work for them. Even if you have no classes scheduled, you cannot take a day of unpaid vacation. Management has been known to gas-light its employees, to the extent of promising professional development, such-and-such salary raises, paying for healthcare, then seldom following through. The English-language teachers have to attend unpaid, mandatory meetings bi-monthly. Talking to student services about student progress is expected and unpaid. Management has been known to insult employees and then flatly deny it. Management has serious misogynistic tendencies, leading most women to quit. Management asks most if not all teachers to take on an additional project within the first semester. From 7 teachers I spoke to, the sames story is true. Management rips apart most of the project and blames the teacher. Management often does not respond to emails, especially about important issues like residency permits, pay and health care.
