Pros

Great people to work with. There was a fair amount of opportunity to affect change in the organization due to the small size of the company.

Cons

Due to the nature of the business, there was a fair amount of turn-over in the outside sales staff. This always created extra work for the internal staff during the transitions.

Pros

Decent products, all 2 of them! I was able to develop some good relationships with Urology practices, that has allowed me to sell other products to them.

Cons

This company has a 2 products, one is a VED (vacuum erectile device) that is what started the company. However, this product has lost a lot of market share, to competitors who are offering cheaper products with decent quality and better service. The competition is doing in-office demos/trainings to potential customers and Timm has decided that they want to do it over the phone...MISTAKE!! Their second product is a next generation ED drug called Stendra that they are co-promoting with Myst Pharmaceuticals. While this is a good drug, it is much to late to the game. They had their opportunity a couple years back and blew it, so it was sold and picked up by TImm's parent company, they then gave it to Myst and Timm to attempt to sell. Problem is, its to damn expensive! There is currently one generic (sildenfil) which is basically a lower dosed Viagra. Add to the competitive mix, the 800 pound gorilla in the ED market-Cialis, is going off patent this year. Which means generic Cialis should be available early next year. So there will be LOTS of cheaper ED drugs out there. Stendra costs patients roughly $40-$60 per pill and while it has some nice advantages that some of the other products don't have, they aren't enough to justify paying this much for it! To make matters even worse, the company has decided that it really doesn't want to offer much in the way of samples, while the competitors are flooding the market with theirs. Doctors want samples, because that is what they have been conditioned to offer patients and their patients want the cheaper option. I started with Timm, making only commission on what was sold, They quickly realized that wasn't enough to sustain most people, so they gave us a 6 month guarantee, except it is next to impossible to dramatically increase sales. I tried for 10 months and couldn't, along with many of my fellow reps. Fortunately, I have other lines that I rep for so it was easy to transition away from Timm. One other issue is the fact that because your only calling on Urologist, all the reps have pretty large territories and mine was no exception. They give you $500 misc budget that can be spent on lunches or gas. For me, that didn't even cover gas. So everything else is out of your pocket! For many offices, lunches are the gateway! Bottom line, don't waste your time! I will be shocked if this company is still selling Stendra next year and the VED definitely won't make you any significant money, if you can even sell it! They keep talking about bringing on more products, but nothing has come. Trust me, don't waste your time! I don't know what they are telling new reps, but it's got to be a bunch of false promises.
