Pros

- High base pay for corporate strategy type roles relative to other Fortune 500 companies - In a good performing year, bonus has a multiple attached to it, up to 3X (e.g., if your bonus is 20%, you would get 60%) - Passionate engineers / product managers who can talk hours and hours about a mundane connector product - Some smart people who truly care about you - Strategists/ex-consultants are generally very well respected in the organization

Cons

- Super high turnover in terms of people switching roles or leaving the company. 2022 saw at least 5+ managers/senior managers in strategy leave the company in North America - Promotions and best projects tend to go to the strategy personnel in India; Hiring in strategy is greatest in India - Super risk averse - management tends to be ex accountants/finance people, so any decisions require strong financial justification - Projects never end - leadership has analysis paralysis. Ironic for a team of strategists who are supposed to be 80/20 - Due to limited funding, a lot of the projects are "lite" versions of what they are really supposed to be and you never get to an actionable answer - Culture/style varies significantly across BUs, Segments, and Corporate. Some people are awesome. Some people are dicks.

Pros

Broadly a good company if you’re in a senior decision making role.

Cons

HR policies are words only. Years go by without ability to take any PTO and carry over not allowed. Friday afternoons, all HR US employees stop working with all others working past normal business hours and into the weekend including late Friday asks to complete an action by Monday 8:00 AM that was known earlier in the week but only communicated to the employee after Friday business hours. Every Friday. Onboarding structure / sink or swim approach, no training. No sense of belonging unless you’ve worked here 20 years plus. No growth or development opportunities unless tapped on the shoulder. Many openings are never published, again tapped on the shoulder approach despite offering to volunteer. Dismissive company culture. Every Voice Counts initiative is code for: if you do share your voice, you are on a list to not consider for promotion or any projects that would give you more visibility across the organization to foster one’s growth.
