Pros

The best part of this company is the people. Everyone works hard and you'll meet some of the smartest people in the industry. the product is very interesting and Taktl is one of the best in the US at making it.

Cons

They expect people to go above and beyond their position despite their average to below average pay. All the young people have quit because of lack of communication, perks, and low pay. Ability to move up is limited, as all decisions are made by the family. The owners are way too involved in day to day decision making despite the fact that they come in two hours per week. They are also well into their 70-80s and very disconnected from how their business is running. Also, anytime someone quits or moves on, you can expect to absorb their workload with no additional compensation.

Pros

It's a bare bones place, not posh like my last employer. The principals have always been friendly and approachable. Sometimes the deadlines are tight or unrealistic, but everyone works as a team and there is no drama.

Cons

Parking is a bit sparse if you show up later in the day

Pros

I've worked in the Communications + Marketing department of TAKTL for nearly seven years now, and I am confident in saying that the experience and knowledge gained from exposure to all aspects of the manufacturing business has been invaluable. My colleagues are engaging, intelligent, and consistently fun to work with creating a great work atmosphere. Since started I've participated in nearly all aspects of taking a small startup and growing it into an industry leader. I've been able to apply everything I've learned and experienced, to other areas of my professional life.

Cons

Being a part of a small group of people directly influencing the growth of a company can be challenging, and at times may require persistence and energy to push forward and provide creative solutions and process innovation. At the end of the day, I find that all of the effort placed in areas I can influence leave me with a great sense of fulfillment, making my lengthy commute worthwhile.
