Pros
Used technical knowledge in financial modeling
Cons
- An embarrassingly poor management team
- Clearly see interns/employees as mere statistics and free labor. After about a week of providing an internship offer, the owner quickly rescinded the offer simply because my CPT was still in process (it was not delayed or anything and he knew it was coming). After emailing him that the application was approved and that I just had to wait for the school to send my CPT to me, he gave me the internship again.
- When my internship was close to an end, he wanted me to work longer (for free of course...) but after about a day as I was deciding and before I could accept or deny, he had already removed me from the system without warning or follow-up/ explanation.
- The experience was very much detached. Even this year, as people move back into the offices, the employees at the firm all worked from home so there was practically nobody in the office and no sense of community or any form of culture.
- Gave us financial modeling (LBOs) to do without giving any feedback or training so not sure what the point was or that I had learned anything from it at all.
