Pros

There are some very nice people here who love their jobs and the company. Pay wasn't too bad, and there are some other perks. The company acts like they care.

Cons

Meetings. If this place cancelled 50% of their meetings, they wouldn't have to let anyone off, except those whose only job is to run meetings. Nothing gets done without 900000 meetings. Stop already, just do something Slow. This place is so slow. Apart from having the 39348380 meetings just to decide to change the roll of toilet paper, nobody wants to make decisions on their own. And when decisions are made, good lord they are bad. Complex. This place has two different "god complexes". First is that people in positions of authority are for some reason treated like saints or gods. Seriously, it is just odd. The other is the Sysco beleif that they can do no wrong and that every supplier is there just for them. Surprised more of the major suppliers don't leave. Final straw is beating the markets expectations and continuing to lay off large amounts of people while not fundamentally changing how they do business.

Pros

A lot of things to do with food -- extra stuff to eat.

Cons

You have to get your bags checked before leaving the building.

Pros

You can make money but it all depends on the orders you get, how fast you can go, how long you can maintain that pace without getting burned out. Definitely a young mans sport, as the do refer to you as "industrial athletes."

Cons

Like many industries the hours can be long. For the ones who don't make much on running above rate then you can make up for it in hours. If you soak the hours and run you can definitely make some big money. The turn over rate is extremely high there, even in management. I used to be proud of the union but the teamsters in Cleveland are completely worthless, I would bet they are getting paid under the table to not fight for contract negotiations. When I was there the contract expired and they barely fought for anything, on voting day they literally said they wont back us up if we don't pass this contract....so consider that when you want to work for this place. Also the equipment is so old and broken that people were taking the scanners home just so they could have a good one for the next night.
