Pros
Initially, great culture and management. It allowed for freedom to do your job effectively and express ways to improve upon the position and environment.
Cons
The culture after 5 years eroded to the point that people called it the “new Syneos”. The business model of having a contract with a pharmaceutical company has its drawbacks. Syneos has no control on really what the client demands and is completely controlled through out the length of the contract. You may report to your manager at Syneos but in essence, you actually are responsible to the client. Therefore, you have two customers while employed, the external customer you work with and the internal customer of the client, such as reps, managers, etc. Additionally, Syneos is struggling signing new contracts and will do anything necessary to keep existing ones. This is not good for their employees because the company has lost its most enduring quality, it’s past culture. Money and benefits are far lower than working for the manufacturers, another reason turnover rates have risen in the last year or so.
