Cons
Where do I start? Terrible communication from top down. HQ is completely out of touch with reality of the day to day in the field. They are constantly trying to come up with ideas to remain relevent but they are always a huge waste of time and money. No real marketing strategy. They are reactive in every way possible. They pay their non benefitted employees unfairly low wages. They also pay based on “past experience” and not for the actual job responsibilities. So two people with the exact same responsibilities and title could be paid completely different salaries. And not just a little different. A difference of 5$+/hour more. They force management to give reviews that they do not agree with because they can’t afford to give that many wage increases. So the DM will force you to give certain ratings so they are not raise elligible, even if you completely disagree and state your reasons. They act like it’s because the company, district, or store isn’t doing well as a whole, but we all know the real reason. Silly little 16 cent raises to $8 an hour employees at that!!!! It’s truly pathetic. They will hold things from years prior over your head and preach about “ethics” but they have zero integrity themselves. It’s like trying to get something done with your hands tied behind your back. They want you to take ownership of your store/department and “act like a business owner”, and you sure as hell will be treated that way when things go wrong, but when you want to do something or be proactive you have to go through 8 million people and at the end they will tell you no. “It’s not standard”.
