Pros
The people make the experience and my former colleagues are some of my favorite people I've worked with in my career. It was a true pleasure working with them everyday. The atmosphere has a good amount of levity.
The founders at Suplari have an amazing track record and which is reflected in Suplari's current success. Learning directly from Niki, Jeff and Brian helped me in the founding my own venture.
Exposure to board members and the investors is a great benefit to those who are entrepreneurial . Team lunches with a VC was a regular experience. Drop ins by board and investors was also the normal; many of which know the employees by name.
Direct customer interaction is also a critical part of the experience at Suplari. Being on sales calls, meeting with prospective customers and regular customer feedback meetings are open to all employees.
Ability to influence the product and the company are plentiful.
Cons
They pay competitive salaries for early stage venture backed startups, which in Seattle is less than a tech giant.
Startups come with a lot of uncertainty and require adaptability, this isn't for everyone.
Long hours, nights and weekends are part of the deal, as you might expect at a startup, however their generous work from home policy made this much nicer, along with unlimited vacation.
