Pros

Company offers a very generous discount, and is focused on hiring quality associates; this all varies depending on the individual hiring or being hired. Not everyone has the same skill-set or same standards in that area. Personally, I've had a great experience with each Regional Manager, Regional Vice President, VP of SGH etc...I've made a few life-long friends during my time here, and I'm thankful. The return/exchange policy is very flexible, could be a pro or a con.

Cons

First let me say that this company is part of the retail industry, and working in the industry requires sacrifice. If you're not willing to do so, or don't understand the industry and its requirements, some research would be a good idea. Pay is in line with most, not all, but most specialty retailers; but could be improved based on the requirements placed on those who work on the store level. While this is not an actual con, pay is always above minimum wage and competitive with other specialty retails, in similar markets, with similar sized locations. Single coverage environment (majority of locations) makes it difficult to have a "real" break. Allowed time to get food if you don't bring it with you, and is to be eaten in the store location; it should be noted though, that all breaks are paid breaks. On the technology side, the company is not as advanced as many others, citing that continual upgrades to stores is very costly given the rapid change in systems, etc...this shouldn't be news to anyone; however, the lack of faster and savvy systems makes it challenging to rapidly assist guests who anticipate information instantly. So, the lesson here is: If you're looking to just earn a paycheck, perhaps working from home is a better option. You get out what you put in, for most cases, again not a con, but you do actually have to work with the retailer.

Pros

Getting 1% of your sales commission every month + base play + bonuses depending on how well the store does adds up a lot. When I worked here, I was one of the best sellers in my district and my store was 14/21 in our district - which led to me making roughly $21-$23 an hour once you added everything up and divided by the amount of time that I worked. Stocking and pushing stuff to the floor is cartoonishly easy considering how small the sunglasses and that packaging actually is. AP is super easy because there's not that much ground to cover. The biggest thing is that this job basically lives and dies by how good of a seller you are and how much of a people person you are. 80% of this job is just about making sales and hitting company quotas and the other 20% is visual merchandising, operational management, making schedules, etc.

Cons

In my district, the district manager kept badgering us about our numbers and moving goal post for us even when we were off the clock and getting in touch with him was nearly impossible. They're also really nitpicky when it comes to how you allocate hours and how you schedule people - even when the store is already meeting company goals. There's also just a lot of straight up favoritism in upper upper management and a lot of nonsense decisions the DM just made because of "vibes" and nothing else. They pushed a lot of unrealistic goals for stores on super short notice and they came up with a lot of ideas that were just kinda trash - while forcing us to swallow it and to try to make it work.
