Pros

Excellent equipment kept in top shape. The company is very worried about safety and their public image. They are very Veteran oriented, even having one of the best Veteran programs for employees anywhere. This is not just a thing where they throw at you a pizza lunch once a year and "thank you for your service." No, they have an actual retired US NAVY SEAL as the lead for their corporate Veteran outreach program. First, all the uniforms for Veterans have the USA flag plus to which branch you belonged. But it does not stop there, they honor every veteran from every nation. So if you are a veteran who served in your native country, they send out a special order to Cintas to make your flag so that you can carry it proudly on the uniform. By the way, these are not your common horrible uniforms, they are top quality unique and with a registered color (Sunbelt Gray). They are made of rip stop material that was a special order from Dupond, and manufactured by Cintas. They provide with any PPE that you need, even being innovators in that they are one of the few construction related companies that use the most effective helmet out there. So why other companies do not use this helmet you might ask? Well, because the cheap construction hat is about 10 bucks, if you want a nice one, is your dime. These helmets are about 100 dollars a piece, and the shade attachment is another 30 to 40 dollars. This is one of the very few companies that put their money where their mouth is. A lot of growth opportunities, a lot of training available. I know of a driver that was a class B driver, and it took him 10 times testing for the CDL to get a class A. Every single test was done using the Sunbelt truck and trailer, and this meant you had to put a whole tractor and trailer out of commission for a day, and lose two drivers for the day as well. He is actually a pretty good driver, he just had problems with the walk around test, which if you are a Class A you know can be hard.

Cons

Nothing that I can think of. I mean, the work is hard work. In the weather, but they provide you with anything you need to make your life a little easier, and the nature of the job is the nature of the job, no matter how comfortable you try to make it.

Pros

The local teams doing the work in the branches are the only team members that make it a positive experience.

Cons

Senior field leadership and it's byzantine hierarchy is filled with matrixed leadership jobs for people who have been good soldiers with long tenure. They don't know anything about the actual work at the branch level or in the markets. Often they spend thousands at meetings in hotels and at bars in the evening which is extremely unprofessional. These same individuals press their political advantage to make sure the people they don't like get dismissed or marginalized and often move people into leadership to virtue signal DEI values. C-suite has been lost since 2021. Budget forecasting, fleet planning, and execution has been weak and lacks strong leadership position. Geographic territories don't make any sense and regions are oddly divided up based on tenure loyalties and not the needs of the business. Senior leadership can be counted on to work Tuesday - Thursday but have no problem asking front line employees to diminish their salary with 60 hour weeks, and pointless Saturday shifts.
