Pros
I had my first week at SumUp in March 2020, right when the first wave of Covid hit. SumUp desperately needed to keep the ship afloat over this tough period, and it would have been easy to let go of people who were on probation, but they didn't. The team rallied, and there was a palpable "We'll get through this together" spirit, which I thought was special. My manager and colleagues cared about me deeply, and I've gained lasting friendships from this time at SumUp.
Cons
The tribal structure has its challenges - with so many "captains" on board, it can be extremely tough to make progress on any company-wide initiatives. Employee experience was definitely not consistent company-wide, but really hinged on which team you were on.
