Pros

The hourly pay is high. The operations managers are helpful and responsive. I love working with at risk students, tutoring/mentoring them one-on-one, and making a difference in their lives.

Cons

The onboarding process took over a month. This job is meant to supplement your income. Working with incarcerated youth at the detention center is difficult because the youth cancel sessions the last minute. No one informs you beforehand that the youth doesn't want to visit; you will only be informed when you're at the detention center. I wish there is a way for you to know that the youth doesn't want to visit before you drive to the detention center. It takes time preparing for a session and it is a waste of time driving there when the youth doesn't want to visit. Honestly, it is quite annoying! I hope they can fix this broken system. The company doesn't have academic resources for tutoring middle school students. They only have the GED book to help high school students prepare for the GED tests. Luckily, I teach middle school students at my full-time job and have access to various resources.

Pros

I like being able to make my own schedule. The company offers a good training and responsive support to the tutors. Everyone in the company is dedicated to helping the students succeed.

Cons

It is hard to get more than 15 hours a week due to student resources and individual scheduling.
