Pros

On my first day, my workstation was perfectly presented and there was a personalised mug. There were two or three genuine people outside of the Sales team who were also genuine. Sales Manager was the bloodline of the business, and highly respected. Shame no one listened to him otherwise the Sales Team might still be there, instead of them leaving.

Cons

Where to start..... - Main shareholder no longer works in the business day to day, and hasn't done for some time. Yet still thinks that the market is the same as 2015. - Shareholders don't see what happens in the office, and don't get a true reflection of the situation on the ground because of poor communication and lack of accountability from those who feed them the information (not sales manager, who was very honest!!) - Charge an astronomical fee for their services, and label themselves as experts. However, there are no experts. Client strategies are conducted by people with minimal experience and/or apprentices. That's not a dig at those guys, it comes from the top. - Too much focus on having time off or doing something that is not your job. E.g - rocks. Each quarter the department would have a project or five. Then you would have your own individual projects to complete......which wasn't really related to what you're employed to do. And if they weren't completed then this was considered to be worse than anything else in the company. - A 4 day week sounds great....but when one of your slogans is real people real time (i.e, you can pretty much speak to anyone at any time during the day), this simply doesn't work. I can't count on my hands how many times someone called for a member of staff who was on their 4 day and no one else could handle the issue. - Or....someone called and one of the management had taken half a day to have a clarity break! Which clearly didn't do a lot anyway! - Delusional yearly, three year and ten year target. - Unapproachable management. - EOS...what a pile of BS. Each week you would have a meeting, which is fine of course. However, in the meeting we would need to get to root cause of issues that we brought up. Even if we got to the root cause, and even if we (non management) came up with a solution, this would need to be signed off by all of the leadership team which could take FOREVER or simply cast away like it didn't matter because we were just minions. Our Sales Manager was very good at trying to get things approved, however it was clear that he was not respected and was seen as a “problem”. - When the proverbial hit the fan, only then did the main shareholder step in and suggest some changes. However, these changes were things we had been trying to bring up for 4 or 5 months. Shock horror, no one listened other than the Sales Manager. - Too many people in the leadership team were doing duel roles. E.g. head of xxxxx AND account manager for failing clients. - Office was always very buoyant, until one of the directors was in the office sitting at his desk. When this happened, the life was sucked out of the place and it was like a morgue. People didn’t feel like they could even talk when he was there. - Two people in finance plus an outsourced accountant for a small business was completely OTT. The finance team were family so that says it all. Waste of time and money. - When I resigned, no director asked me why. They just sat on my resignation for half a day, then told me to give them my laptop and see you around. - Asking employees to leave positive Glass Door reviews because some negative ones from previous staff were filtering through.....rather than taking a look in the mirror. - Attended an exhibition at the NEC as exhibitors. The director there stood on the stand like a lemon for about an hour, then left and didnt come back on the stand, other than to take some photos. One of the sales team took initiative to draw people to the stand by using a big tub of sweets which worked really well….only to be told not to hand them out too much because we might not have enough for the next day and couldn't possibly go and buy some more for £5!
