Pros

Hourly pay and hours was good. It was nice meeting the other tutors in the community (some not all).

Cons

SST Started a new program in Prescott, AZ partnered with the YMCA after school program. From the first day, it was unorganized and chaotic. Since the company is not onsite, tutors were left to ourselves, no guidance, no policies, no one to ask questions, no one facilitating. It was only after we sent emails and texts telling them we had no idea what was going on that they someone from Phoenix to talk with us but still it was just talk. The Y after school staff were just as confused and unaware of anything that was going on. It took over 4 weeks to get a list of kids that were part of the program, then tracking them down and scheduling tutor time was even more complicated. Plus there were no resources, no materials, other than a few pdf documents that were available to print at our own expense. Some tutors actually purchased items out of pocket. We were expected to supply our own materials at our own costs. Overall, really bad experience.

Pros

No Pros that I can think of

Cons

They are very poor at communication, there is no guidance at all. I received a job offer and had very little help in the process. One recruiter helped me with the onboarding process but knew nothing about my position. I also kept getting emailed other random available positions. My position kept getting delayed and I had to reach out multiple times to get any answers. The communication was very fragmented and sometimes they did not respond to my emails at all. The job finally started but I do not think I can have a position with such little support. I have worked multiple jobs and in every job I have had, there has always been clear communication and timelines about when the position will start, and someone supporting you in the process. Additionally they do not pay enough for the training. They make you go through an extensive hours long training for a part time job - the worst part was the child abuse and harrassment training, which was severely traumatizing and unlike any I have been through in my career. I went through the training feeling I was watching a train wreck and was stuck there.
