Pros
paid weekly, opportunity to bonus
Cons
This company is not as employee focused as they claim to be, a lot of the "benefits" programs ( phone discount, gym membership etc.) only apply to Quebec employees yet they advertise these as perks in their recruitment. The health benefits are as basic as possible, no dental/eye or disability and good luck using your benefits to heal from all the manual labor you'll be doing. ( most practitioner services require a doctors note and approval to use) Upper level management picks favorites and those are the employees that are promoted and valued, those decisions are often not chosen off of qualifications or experience but personal preference. The stores are always understaffed and the company blames it on the pandemic but the reality is they are cheap and will overwork you and have you doing management tasks while paying you minimum wage. They do not offer consistent raises or even yearly performance reviews. Store managers receive 2 bonuses, 1 for personal sales and 2 for store sales, which everyone contributes to but does not benefit from. Store managers are paid the same wage company wide regardless of experience, time worked with the company or size of your store. The company is not customer focus and you will be the one being screamed at consistently for factors out of your control. The online team is awful so on the store level you will end up helping online customers with issues etc. to which you will not be compensated for. The amount of manual labor you will be required to do is not compensated for, when temporary labors do not show up (which usually they don't), you will be expected to off load big trucks in terrible weather conditions without safety equipment and all for minimum wage. Management gets priority days off and often takes them on the weekend so if you're not a store manager expect to work every weekend and holiday. The company requires you to clock in early but does not pay you for it, there is no banked time agreements or tracking of over time, so when customers stay late you will not be compensated for that. Some stores are so short staffed that staff cannot take sick days, or even bathroom breaks because there isn't adequate coverage all the time. They have a bonus program which is set to incentivize employees to sell, however you have to meet a base requirement of sales to even qualify, the use this to incise potential candidates but the reality is, if you're not at a top performing store you will never bonus. The company is constantly opening more locations in cities that already have multiple locations which drive the potential sales you could make down, lessening your chances of making bonus. The turn over rate is astronomical with this company and the above reasons are why. They refuse to invest in training programs, so any product knowledge or sales training comes from previous experience which you will not be compensated for. I will say however that the team you work with will be the reason you stay, not the company, pay or upper level management. In conclusion, this is the most mismanaged company I've come in contact with from top to bottom, you are a number and are treated as such, they will not train you on anything other than POS, everything else you have to figure out yourself.
