Pros

lots of snacks around, location, some health benefits, fun toys and games in the office, it wasn't for me but "frat house" "high school" type culture is encouraged by management, and if that's what you like depending on your preference then it's for you, but it's not for everyone.

Cons

Management is overbearing and a couple of managers of different teams are unprofessional; work is offloaded by management onto juniors on teams; culture encouraged my colleagues to behave as if they are still in college; it's something I've grown out of and so it was irritating to be around many of these colleagues at times. low pay for what they want you to accomplish and give to the company in terms of hours; poor work life balance in engineering, sales and product support customer service depts and thus company is deceptive when they tell you in the interview they like to promote work life balance. They do not care. Picking favorites between top client real estate firms and other real estate firms not considered important to the company puts employees in a hard spot sometimes in terms of setting up initiatives and goals.

I am very disappointed to hear your feedback. We encourage employees to give us feedback while employed as it is part of our core values of transparency and accountability. At Zillow/StreetEasy we are committed to creating a work environment where our team members feel appreciated and able to do their best work. This is why I am very proud and honored by our multiple employee-voted awards for Best Places to Work and our incredibly low employee attrition rate. I'm sorry your experience was so different. Pros

Next to restaurants, if there's one other thing on New Yorkers' minds, it's real estate. So, being part of a company whose goal is to make real estate information easier to access and understand for jaded New Yorkers is pretty cool. Whenever I say I work at StreetEasy, everyone's eyes light up and they say, "I love StreetEasy!" Or, "I used StreetEasy to find my apartment!" New Yorkers have a pretty universal feeling about StreetEasy, which is extremely positive. So, it feels good to work at a company that actually helps people's lives. Also, I'm happy to be working on a small team (around 100-ish) that is collaborative and accessible. Since the team is small, everyone's role is critical. No room for prima donnas. The company's leader (Susan Daimler) is dynamic and smart. She brings good energy to the office and people believe in her direction. Everyone is given the freedom to be creative. There is no micro-managing at all. The executive team seems pretty solid. The office is in a cool loft-like setting in the Flatiron area. Everyone has a standup desk and lunch is brought in each Tuesday. Everyone seems to keep different hours, which is cool that people are allowed to choose their hours and make their work/life cycle agreeable. A few people arrive early in the morning (8-ish), then the bulk of the team arrives around 9:30 -- some as late as 10 am, but they stay until 7-ish. Overall, a really great company to work for -- I highly recommend it!

Cons

Nothing yet. I haven't been here for more than a few months, so perhaps I'll have something more to say in the "cons" section.
