Pros
The occasional free breakfast or lunch.
Cons
DO NOT WORK HERE if you’re a person of color, queer, a woman or anyone who isn’t family or friends of the owner! Conversations amongst employees are openly homophobic, racist and sexist and nothing is done about it.
They will overload you with work and then throw you under the bus if you make a mistake or express concerns. They love to ambush you with off the record meetings and never follow up with written communication/email.
Management is absolutely terrible. They aren’t being held accountable for their actions and how they treat their subordinates. They often times will shame and belittle you in front of coworkers who aren’t involved in the situation instead of pulling you aside to discuss privately.
There is a lot of gossip, backstabbing and drama. Employees openly have affairs and abuse company time and money but they won’t provide proper training, raises, reviews or items necessary to do the job.
Most projects are rushed and poorly planned, making work become reactive and overwhelming. Managers will dump this on you and expect you to figure it out with little support. The bottom line is profits over people here.
HR will gaslight you at first into thinking they are a progressive company that provides growth and training. When you speak with long term employees they are absolutely miserable, feel stuck and recommend leaving the company asap before you become too invested.
It’s nice at first. They will give you verbal praise, the occasional free breakfast/lunch and company swag but after a few months you’ll start to see what the environment is really like. DON’T give opinions or suggestions, you’ll be pushed aside and eventually outcasted.
You’ll be working with egocentric bosses and micromanagers instead of supportive leaders. Do yourself a favor and avoid the stress.
