Cons
Positive Culture Shift: The work culture was previously reported as positive and the management team was considered cooperative prior to the joining of the current CTO. Current Leadership Impact: Since the CTO joined, there have been noticeable and significant negative changes to the work environment. Work-Life Balance Concerns: The current leadership style, particularly that of the CTO, does not appear to prioritize work-life balance. Employees are reportedly expected to sacrifice personal time, as evidenced by a recent instance where I was asked to commute to the office despite working until approximately 2:30 AM. Perception of Management Style: The CTO's management style is perceived as authoritarian and extremely micromanaging, which is counterproductive and inconsistent with the strategic responsibilities typically expected of a Chief Technology Officer. Concerns Regarding CTO's Role and Technical Competence Lack of Strategic Focus: There is a strong concern that the CTO's focus is on micromanagement rather than strategic technical leadership. Questionable Technical Expertise: I have observed and believe that the CTO lacks the necessary technical and strategic expertise for this role, representing a potentially poor investment for the company. Leadership Priorities: The CTO's decisions and actions are perceived as prioritizing personal security and reputation over the stability and success of the India center. HR Department and Company Policy Issues HR Effectiveness and Professionalism: Interactions with the HR Head have been challenging. There is a concern regarding the HR Head's knowledge of company policies and their professionalism and demeanor in communication, which is reported as very rude. Disparity in Work Location Policy: The company's policy mandating a full-time in-office presence for the local team is a significant concern, especially when the US team members are operating on a work-from-home model. In the current professional landscape where hybrid work is standard, this rigid policy is viewed as unappealing and creates a discouraging work environment.
