Pros

Benefits and comp are above market averages. Some of the ICs and Managers are truly talented, kind and supportive. Comp is solid.

Cons

This was once a promising company trying to build something interesting and innovative. Leadership has systematically destroyed this place. Many of the previous reviews have covered the important topics, they are accurate. Internally Glassdoor is a dirty word and usually associated with disgruntled people, but this is denial from leadership and nothing more. If people were not scared, there would be a lot more reviews. Major areas of concern: - Opaqueness: Like many places, trust and transparency are preached, but not practiced. Communication is muddled and confusing. Dissent at times is discouraged. Some of the more vocal people were swept up in the previous layoff. Coincidence? There was once a review here accusing leadership of ignoring harassment. Naturally the review was flagged by someone in leadership and temporarily removed, only to come back. This is sadly proof that the allegation was correct as per Glassdoor policy. We still do not know who was harassed or by whom. This injects fear into the organization. - Strategy: Very confusing. Lots and lots of pivots, changes, starts and stops. Recently another company was purchased with lots of overlapping functionality. No real clarity on what is going on. This results in an extremely inefficient engineering process. - Promotions: Wrong people get promoted and rewarded, right people either get nothing or leave. We have seen so much talent get frustrated and walk away. Meanwhile anyone in the "inner circle" that tows the company line gets fancy titled and given more responsibility. Most recent promotions are a good example. Overall it is becoming pretty clear to the folks on the ground, that this is not a meritocracy. This is a special club where leadership gets to play with millions of dollars of investor's money, and enjoy their titles - titles that do not reflect ability. Accusations of nepotism and favoritism absolutely ring true. - Gossip: Because transparency is not rewarded, rumors and gossip are the way information spreads. This is especially noticeable from leadership where the tone is set. No direct feedback is given, but lots of bad things are said about people. Eventually demotions or departures follow. This is not healthy. - Culture: Dying. This used to be a very vibrant place and lots of office activity. Recently the office has been empty, morale is low and outlook is grim. We were all given a small plaque with the values, but those values are not practiced. Culture is toxic. Culture, honesty, transparency all start at the top - everyone knows that - and yet completely absent here. Many are stuck here because of a tight job market. If there were more opportunities available, a large number of people would exit. There were two layoffs already, under the guise of controlling revenue, but then two companies were acquired. Very few things add up or make sense around here. This is a ticking time bomb.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback - we value all of our current and former employees' feedback. Improving communication channels and refocusing our goals are top priorities for us as we continue to build a strong team and product. We’ve focused on improving visibility into current priorities and key results by publishing our company goals (most recently our H1’24 goals) on a company-wide confluence page that is updated monthly by Leadership. Additionally, we launched weekly updates from our Executive Level Team and Five Bullet Friday, a weekly wrap of the 5 things our Stavviators should know before they log-off for the weekend. These are just some of the ways we are working to improve and your input is invaluable. We encourage you to continue sharing your thoughts as we continue to evolve and improve at Stavvy.

Pros

Like most start-ups had a lot of energy and promise but after 7 years it is no longer a start-up. Had a lot on great marketing but little delivery or client execution

Cons

Brought in high priced people from the outside who didn't know or understand the business. Treated it more as a MIT college experiment burning thru a lot of investor cash fast and many lay-offs since. Roller coaster hiring and then RIF's. Constantly changing/ guessing/trial and error on what their business value prop is, who's the real customer and where to garner/generate revenue
