Pros
There are a lot of smart people in the company to learn from - but be quick before they leave.
Cons
Poor direction, breakdown of communication around the company, taking too many shortcuts to 'functionalise' the business. Rolling out and signing off changes to Op model by people who do not understand the current controls, and why they are in place. This results in lots of custom workarounds developed by varous smart people in the company, to accomodate the crap we are left to deal with. Control structure is changing. Previously people with an appropriate level of experience/knowledge in their respective area would signoff work on a daily basis. Now this is being rolled out to low cost centres, which in itself can offer great oppertunities to travel, but these low cost centres lack proper governance. We now have new 'in the door' employees in these centres acting as a 'preparer/reviewer' with little background knowledge to what they are doing, or an understanding of the implications of their work. Some training is provided, but to date there is very little sign of this being comprehensive and reviewed in full prior to implementing changes.
