Pros

Pretty good total rewards benefits and PTO + Holidays. It's not the best but it the non-cash benefits are pretty good if you are a new employee. Cash compensation is lower than market. Can be a great experience if you have a competent and supportive manager. And that's about it folks.

Cons

No pension offered if hired after 1/1/2021. Enhanced 401(k) is decent but the enhanced contribution is done annually so plan your exit accordingly. You may get moved different teams which is great to showcase your skills, however have awareness you might get moved to a no-talent hack of a manager. Interview process for posting out to other internal positions even lateral moves is very disrespectful. Stop with the video interviews, have some class and culture of actually being a good neighbor and conduct in person or Teams videos and stop with the Hirevue video interviews. People are quickly realizing that they can post to other carriers with more robust benefits who value ALL the training SF has provided and they KNOW the volume of work we are capable of doing and they are paying more. And the recruitment process is more human and respectful. You will quickly realize you are doing the work of 2-3 adjusters at competitors. Stop with the application freezes. Your inability to properly staff all the claims sections/departments does not constitute a freeze on me being able to post out for lateral moves to another department. Even if you aren't blocked, literally everyone else is posting out so you will not get an offer for another department unless you have an inside track. The environment has become increasingly toxic and SF has put profits over people, in all areas. Not a very good neighbor. Oh, the regent commons office is a complete dungeon. Spend some money and update your offices and provide a nice place to work if you are forcing people to come in for this job!

Pros

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

Cons

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
