Pros
Great Benefits, free coffee. If you are very good at what you do, you can end up getting promoted but with every promotion comes alot of new responsibility. The customers are generally very nice and it is fun to try to make people's days better. 401k, Health insurance, stock benefits all for part-time employees is fantastic.
Cons
Bad work/life balance for management. My manager worked 70-80 hours a week to keep up with things, but only logged 40 hours a week because Starbucks is very anti-overtime pay. Management differs greatly from store to store, it is hard to get used to a new store especially when things are not done as well there as they were where you came from. Starbucks offers great training programs, but it is hard to actually attend and learn from these programs because they are generally taking place far away. Being in a college town, this starbucks is very relaxed, almost too relaxed because people can get away with anything. Also, smelling like coffee all the time kinda makes one hate coffee sometimes...
