Pros
We are encouraged to seek help from our fellow locators. We have been given procedures/protocols on how to handle things like tracer wire issues with a decent turn around. I had issues with my receiver and a new one was in the mail that day. My supervisor communicates effectively and treats us with mutual respect. My lead is an extremely knowledgeable locator who has answers for everything. The work is a lot tougher than I assumed when I started and it has made me better at my job.
Cons
We could use better and more affordable medical benefits. Clear tickets do not count towards production even though they take up our time. A lot of time it takes some time to ensure the ticket is clear. I am not allowed to work more than 58 hours in week.
