The pay is above minimum wage and the location I worked at is near many casinos, so it looks great on a resume. It's helped to hone my customer service skills and for the most part, the management is relatively friendly. Many of my associates were great to work with and those associates who proved to be problematic or lazy were gone within a couple weeks to only a couple months. My managers have treated me fairly and were understanding of my schedule and gave me the time off I wanted. Any problems I have had were always fairly addressed by my managers. Although, during times of great stress, this stress was also apparent in my managers and seemed to worsen the atmosphere.

Because our location is on Las Vegas Boulevard, it was extremely busy throughout the whole summer. There have been several days where there were too little employees, and working while short staffed proved to be hellish. Another issue I have is with scheduling, where the prized opening shifts were worked by the same few people -- it seemed like favoritism to me. I also didn't like tips were being split up between how many hours you worked -- most tips come from the night shifts, which are ones I usually worked. Although I do consider myself to be hardworking, these problems seemed to outweigh the positive experiences I've garnered from my time here.
