Pros

One hour lunch breaks, can wear street clothes or scrubs, can pick up overtime pretty easily. Don't need too many clinical skills because you don't use them every day or at all in some cases.

Cons

Poor management, if you're in with them, you're fine. If you aren't popular with them or question anything about how or why things or done, you are considered a trouble maker. You have to work with people who prefer to sleep at night or avoid doing their job, thus putting it on you. There are too many people who don't know how to de-escalate situations and therefore treat the patient's poorly. The caliber of most of the doctors (minus a handful that were actually really great) isn't so high. Everything is done on paper, no computer charting. You receive a slap on the wrist and written up statement if you do something "wrong" (forget to sign off something, hurt someone's feelings, etc.) and then it goes in your "File." There is little to no higher. education provided for licensed staff. Lots of power struggles between staff; staff not following policies.
