As with every big company, there is a certain "stiffness" and resistance to change. Here are some things I would classify as negative about Springer Nature: - A fairly hierarchical structure for the company and individual teams. - Diversity at the higher levels of management (C-level and board) is still lacking. - Salaries do not always reflect the importance and prestige of some of the brands/imprints within Springer Nature. Salary reviews have happened in the past couple of years but our salaries were benchmarked against the median of the industry, which is somewhat contradictory for a publisher who aims to be a leader. - Career progression can be a challenge if only looking at verticals and especially for specific job families within the company (e.g., editorial).
