Pros

- Limited Free Snacks - Handful of down to earth collegues - Learning, if you choose to - Bonus that is greater than 0 - Very flexible schedule in the event of an emergency - Car charging station - Annual employee recognition

Cons

Before signing the offer letter, you were probably sold to an idea of a fantastic culture, an always almost 100% bonus payout (no need to negotiate salary because of it), and a never-ending-usage of modern tech stack with career growths that will grow higher than the giant's bean stalk (Doves just flew by). Well, the culture was great when the company had the cash to spend to keep morale high, but when the company doesn't have cash, well, you will see spending cuts down to the quality of toilet paper. As far as the bonus payouts, most employees are just happy to get something rather than nothing, the "always almost 100%" was a bit exaggerated by the recruiter, maybe overly. The modern tech stack varies by how much engineering executives loves you, or if you are a big risk to the company if you leave, so betting on working on modern tech stacks as a new engineer is a gamble here, cause there is still a lot of legacy technology being used. Lastly, the career growth can be confusing, if you move from project to project unwillingly, or stuck on a legacy project, just be happy you still get a paycheck with your name on it. Not saying getting promoted is not possible, you'll probably just have to work endless hours and weekends, and make sure that the right people know you are working endless hours and weekends (takes longer), or just look else where so that the company can present you with a counter offer (much quicker). Oh, and engineers are leaving faster than they can hire. (whisper: the counter isn't working).
