Pros

Very friendly people and a superior ticketing solution for arts orgs. Everyone is passionate about the work they do and about the theatre industry You won't be expected to work extra hours ever and if you do, you can get those hours back with the Time Off In Lieu scheme that is really great.

Cons

They take advantage of the fact that most people entering the business come from the arts industry and don't realize how much they should be compensated for their work in the tech sector. They rely on this and disguise it as parity to keep costs low and justify not giving new joiners an industry competitive (or even standard) salary in order to keep compensation "fair" amongst team members. Part of the low compensation is also that they serve non-profits and want to keep costs accessible which is lovely but doesn't pay the bills for the people who actually do the work. Benefits are very bare bones. Usually if your comp is low you can at least expect a robust benefits plan.

Thanks for your review. At Spektrix we focus on the following in relation to compensation and benefits packages. 1 - Ensuring we attract the right talent. We monitor this carefully at the recruitment stage. We currently have very healthy numbers of applicants for most of the roles we advertise and are very pleased with the talent we bring into the company from both arts, tech and other backgrounds. 2 - Ensuring our team members are developed, that we grow sustainably and our culture is one that people want to work within. We currently have high levels of success with internal promotions, strong engagement scores and healthy retention. 3 - Ensuring we pay fairly across the business. We calibrate against internal roles and other peer companies to ensure competitive and market rate compensation. We do this through an equality review of all salaries twice a year and regular market benchmarking. We also have an opportunity for performance and cost of living increases at least once a year. Pros

The culture is supportive, leadership is transparent and approachable, and there are plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. Work–life balance is respected, communication is clear, and the benefits are great. Feedback is heard and changes happen quickly. Overall, it’s a great place to feel valued and supported.

Flexible work set up Easy to advance if management likes you

Cons

Management is deceitful, will encourage you to take PTO and penalize you for doing so. Metrics are measured subjectively with no comprehensive standardization of expectations. Claim they encourage feedback and then target those who provide feedback to management or question how employees are considered in their plans. Line management will build silent cases against you and give you false affirmations about your job status. HR is not equipped to handle anything. Racial bias is prevalent.
