Pros
-Able to get time off with sufficient notice and good job performance. -Work independently when working overnights. -Some benefits for full-time workers.
Cons
-Absolutely no short term compensation for employees. -Long hours -Expected to cover shifts when other employees can't be there even though 40 hours are already being worked in a week. -Extremely poor training (I had to teach myself the register and most anything else, although it's not rocket science) -Unreliable co-workers -Poor communication from District level management to the store. -Unrealistic expectations from District level and above. -Poor marketing from corporate level i.e. each store is expected to meet a goal of "Selling Point" items each month (about 800 or so). These are usually candy bars such as Reese's or Hershey's, but corporate puts a 2/$1 sale on regular size Hershey bars and Reese's when their king size candy bars are 2/$2.22, when the math is done, more money is saved and more chocolate is eaten by purchasing 4 regular sized candy bars for $4. Corporate expects each store to meet this goal even though they are placing terrible promotions on the same exact candy bars.
