Pros
Compensation, benefits and company match. This bumped up the review to two stars.
Cons
Everything that plagues large corporations in America. 1. Top heavy leadership - how many different types of VP does a company need? Nothing gets accomplished because of layers and layers of bureaucracy. 2. DEI - I've found myself surrounded by people who should not have been hired for the roles that they are in. I can not even see how they would pass an interview. It's absolutely absurd; entire teams of people who simply do not know how to do their jobs and get offended if you ask them basic questions. Somehow gathering information is now offensive. ** Side note on the DEI initiative at Charter. They'll give you extra tuition assistance if eligible which means anyone but white people. Who cares about poor white people trying to get ahead in life right? 3. Remote work - The company hates remote work. They do a hybrid schedule and make you track everything and I mean everything. More than half of my time is dedicated to meetings and administrative tasks and I'm in an engineering role. Don't forget the hypocrisy when it comes to remote work. Although they frown upon remote work, they've made exceptions for some people and it's usually not for anything special. They've given remote work to people who get offers and threaten to leave the company. Bonus Con - They've been laying off employees in small groups but the number of contractors seems to go up at the same time. The majority of the people I interface with daily are contractors. Not concerning at all!
