Pros

SCS is a really strange place to work. It's my first MSP - usually I work for companies that hired MSP for staff augmentation so I'm used to how they operate. What makes them strange is that the management and the people are truly focused on two things: Making the customer happy, and making their own employees happy. A lot of companies say those things, but Chris and the team live it and believe it. The company mantra is "We'll make IT better" and that is indeed what they do. It's really an incredibly friendly group, and so refreshing to work for a company that actually means what they say and cares about their employees *and* their customers. Oh also as was mentioned by someone else, the fully stocked fridge, and bi-weekly team meetings that have a BBQ grill involved is an awesome perk.

Cons

Because it is a small company, the benefits aren't amazing. The owner does take vacations - and is almost always calling in and emailing in no matter where he is when he's out of town.

This company is everything wrong with MSPs. Their high rate of turnover is a testament to their failings as not only an employer but as a service provider as well. In less than one year I seen them go through several employees and lose several contracts. Almost none of the employees are happy. Little to no benefits employees are over worked and wear many hats for little pay. They milk their clients for both a monthly fee for services as well as tack on labor charges for anything they can. (If paying a monthly fee for a service how are they tricking their clients into also paying for extra for labor?) Their service is actually a passive overpriced maintenance service in which they then charge fees for when they have to actually put work into new equipment or work on a project. The company owner\Manager is inpatient and out of touch with his employees often blowing up on people with little research. Employees are scared to bring up issues and challenge any direction within the company. He leaves for Florida every winter. The company is entirely profit driven and not very service driven. Unhappy employees and unhappy customers. If you are new to IT do everything in your power to get a normal job with a reputable company. If no other options; use places like this as a stepping stone and get out as soon as possible. MSPs are scams and make money off your talent and return very little to you as well as provide barebones service to their clients.
